Class Projects:

A major part of the Leadership Hilliard program is to develop a project that will benefit the community. Listed below are the past projects, and a description of each, that each class has embraced.

Class of 2008-2009: Building a Better Hilliard

The 2008-09 project theme is “Building a Better Hilliard” and the objectives include: enhance economic vitality; increase amenities that attract residents and visitors; community immersion and involvement; creation of opportunities to meet the diverse needs of the community.
The group made a final decision to support the downtown revitalization effort by beautifying the Rails to Trails entrance. This choice allowed us to meet all of the objectives established in support of our Building a Better Hilliard theme in addition to reflecting the values we deem are imperative to this project.  Learn more.

Class of 2007-2008:  Hilliard Evergreen Team

The fifth class of Leadership Hilliard searched for a group of caring citizens to join the Hilliard Evergreen Team.  They joined a network of residents who share a passion for making a difference on environmental issues and help preserve our community for future generations.  Read more about it in our Press Release | Download the Application to Join

Class of 2005-2006:  Leadership Hilliard Website

As the Fourth Class of Leadership Hilliard, the program needed a website to continue to promote this community program, as well as to serve as a resource to past, present, and future members of the program.

Class of 2004-2005:  Rails for Trails Art Project

The Third Class of Leadership Hilliard took on a beautification project for the Rails for Trails. This is a bike trail that exists where the old railroad ran during the early days of Hilliard. The class was responsible for developing a marketing plan for the Rails-to-Trails Coalition, and coordinated with the local high schools to install student art work along the trail.

Class of 2003-2004:  Community Outreach Pamphlet

The Second Class of Leadership Hilliard developed a pamphlet that would serve as a reference to those in the community that seek various kinds of assistance, from contacts to a food pantry, to learning English as a second language. The pamphlet was distributed to members of the chamber, who were asked to reproduce and have on-hand at their businesses.  The pamphlet is also available through the city’s municipal office and schools.

Class of 2002-2003:  Inaugural Class

The Inaugural Class created Leadership Hilliard, including the charter, by-laws and promotional materials.
